Zinc-nickel alloy plating is a process that deposits zinc alloy with a few percent of nickel. The process is used to improve the corrosion and abrasion resistance of the metal. Zinc nickel plating is used for automotive components that are exposed to higher temperatures, as found in engine components where other alloys such as zinc & iron fail easily. It is also used for fasteners and as a replacement for toxic metals.
